Leg Day Grind: It’s Not Flashy, But It Works | High-Volume Workout
Basic leg workout for muscle building. My training partner John and I are all about putting in the work that gets results-nothing flashy, just some stuff we know that works for building mass. We kicked off with leg extensions and leg curls to get the quads and hamstrings firing and pre fatigued, followed by Smith squats to really punish the quads and push the volume. We finished strong with Romanian Deadlifts (RDLs) to hit the hamstrings and glutes. Every exercise was done with four high-volume working sets. Join us for this no-nonsense leg day that’s all about keeping it simple! Total working sets = 16. We normally would finish with another quad movement and calves but I’m still recovering from a hip labrum reattachment and John just competed in a bodybuilding competition last week. So yes, we wussed out 😉

Переглядів 16 тис.9 років тому
Derek got an invite by Universal Nutritions Animal brand to do some heavy deadlifts in the Cage at the 2015 Arnold Classic with Dan Green. This was the 815 lb warmup before Dan and Derek went on to 875. Both just missed the 875 lbs. Stay tuned, is Derek back or was he never gone...
The Half Mile keg carry at Poundstone Performance
Переглядів 6 тис.10 років тому
During one of our "Strongman Saturdays" I had the bright idea to carry a 200 lb keg 1/2 mile or so. We split into two groups, the over 200 lb guys and under 200 lb guys. Us "fatties" carried a 200 lb keg while the better looking lighter guys carried a 150 lbs keg. We had there guys in each group. Heavies were Mike Jones, Iron Mike Amici and myself; the lighter guys were 15 year old Mitchell, Ga...

Like most strongman. Lots of drugs.. The rise and fall
LIke your Mumm, lots of caulks... BBC rise and fall (down her Troat)...
Damn the record is like 460. Poundstone could pound that record to smithereens
230 lead inside is sick. Monster stone
Derek hasn't aged a day in over a decade.
Looking fantastic Derek. Long time fan from years back good to see you in such good health.
Derek Poundstones baby.
Welcome back
Happy to see this champ, thx!
Welcome Back Derek 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
💪🙂🎉
I started my lifting journey at 17 (know almost 31), and i remember watching videos of Derek on the earlier years, specifically the WSM that he entered and just being amazed, because he was one off the fews on strongman that had a bodybuilder shape and strength off a strongman, and that combination for me was always just wow. Wish you and your family all the best. Greetings from Portugal.
I remember being in middle school and MTV made a "True Life" documentary on this guy.

Not impressed. Guy on I G standing VERY strict shoulder press 10 perfect reps. Believe he has 12 to 15 in him. 315 lbs!!
Beast.
10 months no video
Not only did he do skull crushers with 215 pounds, he does 12 reps with it absolutely impressive
Hey Derek.... good to see ya back, hope you're doing well. This is Gary Pavlak from way back at PowerHouse Gym aka Dolphin Fitness, the short bald guy with big man strength....lol. Where you training these days?
Derek's still the man
the craziest part is that this could be a tutorial on perfect form for the skullcrusher
Incredible
Amazing
This is still super badass
Derek You Are a Legend 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Where did he get that rope? I need one just like that. Is that 2'' thick?
This video is worth a million dollars.
One day I’ll have a body like Dereck
Me It's Fucking Awesome 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
You were a beast in WSM, really enjoyed watching you keep blowing everyone away in most events back in the day. Would definitely watch/thumbs up if you post more videos 💪🏻👍🏻 I’m sure I speak for all of your fans, but any videos from you would be awesome, it doesn’t have to rival the top UA-cam guys with 1 million subs, anything is better than nothing mate 😁
As a cop, what kind of mental gymnastics do you do to justify taking loads of illegal steroids, while sending other people to prison for the same thing?
Give it a break. Virtually everyone in elite sports takes something. They just know when to get off the stuff so they can pass a test. Remember, when they took those Tour de France tiles away from Armstrong they didn't give them to anyone else.
@@leonardhudson3810 oh nice. other people do it so its okay.
Hey Derek! Nice to see you back, boss. I started Powerlifting in 2010 and you were one of my biggest inspirations! 😁😁😁😁
You are a very handsome, very hot looking man ! WOW !
A 10 event comp?
I hope we are on good terms. How reps is this?
He is straight out of the Flintstones, even down to his surname.
He makes them look like 20s
“That’s how you sled buddy” I wish I had the worlds strongest man tell me that when I was a kid lol
What a wipe out!!!! 😮
Cool song
Hey Derek, Steve & Trish from Powerhouse. Good to see we’re all still gym rats. 👮🏻♀️🤙🏻👩🏼
insane
Just seen him pressing a 330 lbs stone over his head,I'm amazed
Derek’s videos are what inspired me to take training seriously at 18 years old. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t have gone pro in strongman or be doing what I’m doing now… So, thanks Derek. Your videos and the dedication that you had made waves. Big ones. You took the sport as seriously as anyone could possibly take it. Thank you for what you did.
I mean, if you’re a strongman at that level and that size, you shouldn’t have any problem curling this amount of weight
For this man, this is where you start to become a strongman until you become a professional strongman, I hope, reach the level of the legend DEREK POUNDSTONE!!! #THEBIGMAN @ANGULOSTRONGMAN
DEREK POUNDSTONE, for whom I started in Strongman, until I became the 1st South American in the history of the sport to be part of the SBD WORLD STRONGEST MAN. ( #WSM2022 )
